Knoxville is a welcoming community that respects the value and dignity of all our residents. Mayor Rogero and the City of Knoxville work with many local partners, including Bridge Refugee Services, Centro Hispano de East Tennessee and the Great Schools Partnership, to help new residents work toward Citizenship and a safe and healthy community.
In September 2016, Mayor Rogero helped form the Knoxville Citizen Alliance, a network that helps newcomers access resources such as ESL and Citizenship classes offered throughout the community. Mayor Rogero affirms this commitment to Citizenship by celebrating Welcoming Week, Citizenship Day, and participating in Naturalization Ceremonies annually. Mayor Rogero supports the City’s many cultural festivals and also shares information about Citizenship resources on the city’s website.
