The Office of Equity and Engagement Department serves as a critical link between the City of Champaign and its residents. The Office works to ensure everyone who lives, works, or plays in Champaign is treated in a fair, equal, and inclusive manner.

The City collaborates with the local New American Welcome Center at the University YMCA and the Champaign Human Relations Commission to promote the well-being of our valued immigrant communities. The Office, along with both the local New American Welcome Center and our Human Relations Commission, work collaboratively to promote citizenship through advocacy, outreach, education and community-building activities.
